how to succeed in a saturated market

An office chair and desk sit next to a wall. There's a framed illustration and eucalyptus on the desk. With text - how to succeed in a saturated market.

We’ll get to how to succeed in a saturated market, but honestly I’m tired of hearing the “saturated market” excuse. Maybe you think that’s kinda harsh. Maybe you feel like it’s not an excuse because in your case you really ARE in a saturated market.

    But are you, though?

Or are you just stuck in an industry bubble, surrounding yourself with similar businesses who are also in your industry via Instagram posts and Facebook groups and email lists and Pinterest feeds – and it’s giving you the false impression that every single person in the entire world is selling the same product or service as you?

There’s nothing wrong with networking, being part of a community, or using other businesses’ success as motivation. Hell yeah to all of that!

But the waters get muddied so easily, ESPECIALLY on social media!

When you aren’t 100% committed to your own path, in your own lane, doing your own thing, making your own products, developing your own services, creating with your own vision, the inspiration quickly turns into comparison and will inevitably fuck up your flow.

And that’s when imposter syndrome and diminish syndrome show up. That’s when marketing starts to feel like you’re yelling into the void. That’s when you wake up every morning feeling sorry for yourself because you just can’t seem to make the business work the way you want and where are all the clients at and why doesn’t anyone like you?!?!?!

Yeah I’m calling you out, but it’s not like I haven’t been there myself (multiple times in my 8 years of business, for full transparency!).

That’s how I know having brand clarity is crucial – because when you know what makes you unique in your market, scrolling the competition becomes a fun game. One that you always win.

You’ll be amazed how many people in your industry are saying the exact same shit – which will inspire you to say something different.

You’ll take notice of infuriating industry norms and get pissed off – sparking hundreds of content ideas.

You’ll light a fire under your ass to simply share your expertise and make your art and speak your truth and trust that the right people will take notice instead of desperately searching for ways to prove you’re unique.

So you want to know how to succeed in a saturated market? Brand strategy is ALWAYS the answer.

It’s a guaranteed fact that everyone everywhere is going to be marketing all the time, forever. It will always feel noisy as an online business owner. You will always have a ton of competition. The algorithm will never be on your side. So do you have a plan in place to make sure your marketing immediately stands out to your ideal clients?

If not, it’s time to start clarifying your brand.
